My Personal Mission Statement

I am passionate about understanding people and designing interactions that increase one's sense of well being.

I recently graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Cognitive Design. I created this major to combine Cognitive Science with Human Centered Design so I could develop both an outside-in and inside-out understanding of how we relate to our world.
Within the world of design I have an invested interest in two main areas:
  1. Ergonomics -creating a more active life style.
  2. Community building -inspiring more positive personal interactions.
User research has been central to my design process as it allows me to put the user and resulting interaction, at the heart of the project. Using a human centered design approach I have conducted an array of designs and ethnographies including a children's science museum redesign, an auto-seal thermos for commuters, 'barefoot' running sandals, and a shipping container redesign for displaced Haitians.
